Featured Profile OMNI Graduate

Hong was originally a Registered Nurse in China. After immigrating to Canada, she worked as a Care Aide for many years but her English level prevented her from being able to achieve her Registered Nurse status in Canada.

Hong saw an advertisement for OMNI College and after an interview with the school’s Director of Admissions, she attended a trial class before making her final decision.

This is what Hong said about her experience at OMNI College:

“During the trial class, I was so impressed with the Instructor. It was not only her RN experience and knowledge that impressed me, but also her teaching philosophy and methodology. It was the way in which she taught the class that would help the students learn best, using very relevant examples from her own experience as well as ours, so that we would understand very clearly. I was convinced that I could only make it through the CRNE if I took this unique program. This ended up being true. I passed the CRNE and am now working as an RN at UBC Hospital.

I had such a great experience at OMNI College. I loved the family-oriented environment and the dedication by all the staff. With my fellow students, we all shared resources, tips and helped each other when we needed help. Most of all, there was such valuable support from the staff, especially our wonderful nursing instructor Louise. Her considerate preparation of each class and her teaching philosophy were the reasons why I was able to pass the exam.

The most important thing I gained from OMNI College was the improvement in my professional nursing knowledge and my English skills in terms of listening, speaking, reading and writing which was my foundation to pass the CRNE. Also, I was greatly inspired by the professionalism of OMNI’s instructors—I will always regard them as my role models throughout my nursing career.

For other students considering enrolling in OMNI College, I would want them to know about my experience and that OMNI College is the right choice. You will gain more from OMNI than you can imagine and I know you will successfully pass the CRNE. Perhaps you will become one of my fellow RNs in the Hospital. I look forward to meeting you in the work place!”
